Background-- After a successful career as a medical biochemist Doreen shifted gears and returned to university, this time at the University of Victoria where she obtained her degree in History in Art.  She then followed up with 2 years of silversmithing courses at Camosun College.  Now more than 20 years have passed, all filled with her love and wonder of designing and working with precious metals and semi-precious beads and stones.
"I love the search for appropriate beads and cabochons, the creative design process which follows, and the delight in having one of my finished pieces make someone very happy."
"Now, however, changing circumstances suggest it is time to retire.  And it is with great regret that I have  now set aside my hammer, pliers, torch, etc. to take on other challenges."
